My dome light comes on maybe 50% of the time when i open my driver side door. Maybe a switch? Anyone know whats going on?
Zac

Do 2g's have the switch on the dome light itself?

If it does, do you manually turn on your dome light a lot?

I know some cars have the switch on the dome light, all the way to one side equals when you open the door it comes on, in the middle equals the light comes on, and all the way to the other side equals the light stays off when you open the door. (I'm not positive if those are the correct locations for the settings either, they could be in a different order)

They don't have the switch on the dome light. It's not even really a "dome" light, it's the lights in the mirror.

To test out whether or not it's the switch, leave your keys in and open the door. Does the buzzer only come on 50% of the time? If so, it's the switch that determines whether or not your door is open or closed. Do your floor lights come on 50% of the time as well as the buzzer? If so, it's definitely this door switch.

Yea i had the same problem the door switches get rusty inside the little boot and the contact points go bad. You can try and take them off and clean it that will work sometimes. I just ordered new ones and that fixed it.

Its probably the door switch if the passenger door makes the dome lights work fine. Mess around with the screw in it cause thats where it gets its ground. You could also try and clean it or just order a new one, they are cheap.

yeah, its the switch. floorlights and buzzer dont work either.
Thanks.
