Hi,
I was wondering if there was a difference between the 6 bolt 4g63 dip stick and 7 bolt dip stick? My dipstick is missing and I can't find one at a junk yard for a 89 anywhere but there are plenty of 95 and up eclipse 4g63s but nobody at the junk yard knows if there is a difference. So please let me know if there is a difference or not.

Thanks,
Nick

ya the 1g dip sticks have a metal handle, while the 2gs have a plastic handle. mine broke during my t28 install. i just super-glued it back together *dont even know if its lasted...havent checked it in 3 days LOL* if it did fall off im just gonna get a 1g one.

Thanks everyone. I have a 6 bolt the orignal engine died a long time ago and was replaced with a motor from a wrecked 89 eclipse.

Mine broke off when I was checking my oil. I totally wasn't expecting it and I just stood there with the "WTH" look on my face.... LOL I super glued mine too, so far it has held up. I plan to replace it with a nice 1g one soon.

Old thread, I know.
But I just broke the handle of my dipstick.
So quick question, since the 1g dipstick has a metal handle can I use a 1g dipstick in a 98 7bolt gst?
If so could someone please give me the pat number so that I can pick one up at the stealership.
Thanks.
