Difference in CLutches

are there any differences in oem clutches between nt and turbo 1'gs?? keep in mind both are 6 bolt?

yes the nt has a flat fly wheel and the turbo has square humps that stick out and the turbo clutch is bigger(as in a circle)

when you buy a new clutch for a non-turbo cars you get the flywheel, clutch disc, pressure plate as one piece all riveted together. off the crank is a setup usually seen on old mopar muscle cars some people call it a flex plate.

turbo cars have the normal setup flywheel, clutch disc, pressure plate as all separate pieces

ya i never knew about those till one master tech i worked with did a clutch on a non-turbo, and the same week i did a turbo clutch, and he was like that was the most messed up thing i have ever seen, and i was like what are you talking about, and we argued for 20min looking at each other like what are you smoking, so then we went to the parts room and pulled the clutches for both to compare and it all fell into place.

thx for the help, i got a nt clutch for a good deeal, i was told it would work, now tranny is off, and i have to go buy the right clutch, guess a little better research would have saved a huge headache.....lesson learned, again thx

First off, that clutch will not work on you car, as stated, the n/t has a flat flywheel and you have a stepped flywheel.

And for those who said it had a modular clutch, do your homework before you reply. The 2g n/t with the 420a had a modular clutch. The 1g n/t(which is what he was talking about) has a 4g63 and a conventional clutch setup. Even the 1.8 powered cars had a conventional clutch.

I wasn't trying to say it did have a modular clutch, I was just trying to give Styx the correct term.

i ment the tech did a 2g missed the key when typing it
