I ordered a shift knob off ebay because i had a super cheap autozone one on it when i bought it, and ive researched the thread size and if im not wrong it should be 10mmx1.25? i received it today and i was gonna put it on but it the hole in the shift knob was way to big for my shifter. did i order the wrong size or did they ship out the wrong one?

Typically that style of shift knob is made to be universal. The hole is large so that multiple sizes of inserts with different threads/pitches can be shoved up in it and then the knob just slides down. There will be three or four small set screws to keep it in place. Most of the ones I've seen include three different inserts for the main three types of shifter threads. There may be a chance that this one is sold as only having the 10x1.25 but I would bet money if the hole is oversize that they also sell it in other packaging with the other two thread options as well.

Really sucks if they forgot to include that insert, I have a Sparco universal I probly won't use with the different inserts if you just need that sleeve it rides on and they didn't give it to you. Look for actual threads or at least little plastic tabs up in the hole and let us know if they are there. My guess is that they aren't and you're missing the sleeve!

Good luck

thanks guys i messaged them and they did mention the having a lock nut and the threading to fit the shifter i just overlooked it while taking out the shifter i was kind of clueless that it was still in the package, :ohdamn: i felt kind of dumb aha but for the price it beats my old shift knob it sits firm and doesnt wobble around like the old one.
