Well found out why my car is so turdly slow, I hooked up the stuff for a leak down test and guess how much psi I can hold.....2! ROFL

I found some small leaks on the bov gasket and weld to the pipe, and I also found some small leaks on the throttle body on the (I think) idle screw and a little bit on top where the pipe connects to it.

Im not sure where else but I cant hear anything obvious, but im only holding 2 pounds  Any ideas? Going to be working on this for a while, ill come back and check now and then for suggestions.

yea I forgot to say I checked the shaft play and there was 0, unless im an idiot and did it the wrong way.

im gonna try a compression test tonight if we can find the tester.

1. Disable the MBC, most of them have a bleeder hole.

2. Bring cylnder 1 to TDC to close the intake valves.

3. Start to fix what you find first and repeat test, hard to pin point when there so many leaks.

Hope that helped.

I think my turbo is blown. I went to double check shaft play and it can move back and forth (like if you push and pull on the shaft) a lot, probably a couple millimeters at least, and if I remember reading right back and forth shaft play is a really bad thing.

The previous owner did have a t3/t4 on there for a break in period, and maybe he did that because the t25 blew. and threw it back on.

I didnt have cylinder one at TDC though so I can try that, but what do you guys think on the turbo? sorry not enough time to search for hours.

ok turbos blown, excessive shaft play is there, oil in the intercooler pipes, and more smoke then I think there should be coming out of the exhaust.

2 others agree with me and it makes a LOT of sense. I still have a few boost leaks and things but ill worry about those when I upgrade.

Now... 14b that my friend has laying around, or to just go for the big boys

A "big boy" will require a lot more supporting mods than what you've listed in the profile, I say bolt on the 14b until you're ready.
