I had some NGK Iridiums for a while-- they work fine. Many people mistakenly lump them in with the platinum plugs, which aren't recommended for our engine. I can't say they're worth all the extra cost, though, but they are supposed to last longer.

Nippin Denso makes very good spark plugs. For Toyotas and others.

DSMs like NGKs best.

In a turbocharged combustion chamber you're not going to get enough life-extension from iridiums to make up for their expense, but of course we're not on a mechanical-reality level here. Just like synthetic oil, the question isn't one of superiority, but of utility. With BPR6ES plugs being so cheap, and sparkplugs so accessible on DSMs, there's no point in bothering with sparkplugs meant for non-access engine/chassis designs.

However, do what you want.

I have the Denso Iridiums in both my Talon and Probe. No complaints, other than price.

Not worth the money. I used them when I first got the car. They dont last any longer. Sure the center electrode is Iridium, but the top electrode is not. 6 months and the gaps had opened up to about .040" (from .028") due to top electrode where. I now only use BPR7s or BR7s.(high boost)

Oooo, good info-- thanks. I didn't know that. I'm glad I took them out when I did, then.

I think any copper plug that is in the same heat range as the BPR6ES and BPR7ES NGK plugs should work fine in our engine. But forced induction engines of any type dont seem to like non copper plugs.

And if im not mistaken didn't our cars come from the factory with NGK BPR7ES plugs? So yea use them!

I use the Denso Iridium K20 Plugs for Turbo cars...I notice that my car doesn't miss up top as often...I love the BPR7ES' but the spark seems to get blown out too easily causing miss firing up top...Just my opinion and probably wrong...But if you look at the price diff $70.00 compaired to $8.00. Yes it is too high... :dsm:

hey 96 tsi chris, where the hell did you get your plugs at for that cheap?
