Deleting the coolant lines for the turbo

One of my friends was saying that alot of people in the area are running their turbos with out the coolant lines running to the turbo and just pluging off the feed and return , wouldn't this cause a problem with the turbo's reliablity , and in time coke the oil lines and turbo it's self? Sounds kinda of weird to me.

Most turbos now are made without the need for water lines to cool. There would be no purpose to take the lines off a turbo that has it already on.

i bought my laser with a 16g which the previous owner ran without coolant lines.... bad idea.

16g fried within a couple thousand miles...

installed a 14b which later fried too... finally realized that coolant lines are needed after all..

no more fried turbos since... therefore, if the turbo is intended to be coolant cooled, then keep it that way.
