us 1ga owners will get to see what it looks like on our cars once mine comes in. dejon gets the money tomorrow and hopefully they will have it ready to be shipped too. aka sometime next week ill get mine, and put it on.
 
I was wondering if I were to get the 3'' 2g awd catback with bullet muffler,wouldnt I be able to mate the system up with any 3'' inlet muffler?Say if I wanted to go and buy an Megan muffler to mate with the piping...?
 
yeah, as long as it's a 3" inlet. thats why it's called a "universal" muffler.

all you'd have to do is hack off the old one and have someone hang the new one up and weld it or exhaust clamp it.

why would you want to change it though? i think the bullet muffler it comes with looks much better than a big apexi n1 or megan muffler.

the only thing i'd replace it with is a nice dual outlet magnaflow with tips.

but then again, thats just me.

the links dont appear on the left side? its your browser if anything, it should say exhaust on the side, among other things.

Im just asking that because I hear that bullet muffler makes your ears bleed.Im not specifically suggesting only a megan muffler,that was just an example.Any 3'' inlet muffler really.And you answered my question,thanks:thumb:
 
listen guys, i have this exhaust ON my car.

it's not "make your ears bleed" loud. it's not quiet, but it's not v8 open headers loud.

my suggestion is to either go with the oval can, or just do what i did and get the 2nd bullet muffler option put in. it's like, an extra 20 or 40 bucks.

my total was still under 500 bucks for the whole thing (dp and catback w/2nd bullet) shipped to my door.

it's an awesome system. thats all i have to say about it. and all the girls i know f-ing love it. haha
 
Time is counting down. My exhaust was shipped from Dejon today. I should be getting it by the end of next week. :thumb:
 
awesome! youll freekin love it.

it maybe just be alumanized pipe, but once that thing gets under the car, it's pretty. espically that big dp commin from the o2/turbo. heehee, makes me happy just thinkin about it.

THE DEMON BOLT STRUCK AGAIN

apparently dhl thinks ill get my package by the 24th, so tuesday... im going to put my money on tuesday instead of wednesday, i think dhl would have a better idea then me, but who knows? not that it matters because i have to get out the demon bolt....
 
from personal experience your ears will not bleed with any open FULL exhaust on any turbo application. THe turbo acts as a muffler severely ristricting the noise level. Thats not to say you wont have an annoying resonating frequency at a certain rpm. but it will by no means be ridiculously loud. External wastegates venting to the atmosphere is where the noise is:thumb:
 
LOL, that damn demon bolt story is crazy. You couldnt have come up with a more suitable name. Its funny how sometimes the simplest tasks turn into a long term assignment. I will have my exhaust on Wednesday according to DHL so Ill let you know then It should go on Wednesday night. Maybe I can upload some sounds onto the computer and put em' up on tuners. til then:talon:

i didnt find it very funny when it happened. I slammed my hood down and walked out on the car. now i can find the crush washer, but not the head....

my exhaust came a day early. i want to take the heat sheilds from the stock cat and put them around my new exhaust. anyone know if welding is needed?

i just got back from santa barbra and am leaving for reno on thursday, i doubt ill get the exhaust on soon, but well see.

all i have to say is, damn, thats not really a muffler.
 
haha, right? it's about as close as you could get to a straight 3" pipe. i dunno though, i think it's kinda cool. not some huge ass chromy round can with a 30 bajillion inch tip.

let us know what you think, i know i love mine.

dont kid yourself, its a straight through pipe.

ill get mine on after i get my car running.....

ps, you can actually see the cut that was made by when the head of the bolt fell off and i wasnt expecting it. i was using a pretty small comb wrench, since the torque wrench is too big to turn from the 15ish ft lbs i was at (i had just checked) to the 21 i was going for. my finger on the right side of the picture.

OK got the exhaust on. first off, the thing is loud as hell. If im just cruising between 2-3.5k it is really loud. I live in cali so I gotta watch out for the smog nazis. It had a major improvment in power though. The thing is definetly best buy for the money vs. product. It came nicely packaged and in a timely manner. It looks good, sounds good, feels good. What more could you want. I will see if I can d/l a short vid of the car idling and reving up. On the 1ga the muffler doesnt look like it sits so far down. I dont have the gap in my rear bumper for a muffler so it sits right against the bumper instead of below it. To finalize.... I would say buy it. :thumb:

while fooling around with my piping, i noticed that the pipe with all the bending is bent. (durrr hurrr hurrr) whats surprising about that is, im talking about it being bent upward. and the hanger on my muffler looks shorter than the ones in the pics already posted. could they have made changes already? are they taking every word we say on dsmtuners like a texan takes words out of the bible? i doubt it, im probably just crazy
 
I just think maybe the template for the exhaust was made from a 1ga. It seems to fit a lot better on 1ga's then it looked to fit on a 1gb. Just my .02
 
ill admit mine looks like it hangs a little lower than most. . . but it really doesn't bother me.

im sure if i cared enough i could have the hangers pulled and re welded pulling it up a little more. but. . . meh. it sounds nice and adds power and it was super cheap.

i can't complain. im glad you all like yours though, thats awesome.
 
does anyone have their downpipe w/ the external wastgate on the O2?

they say..."2 3/4" Ext-Wg O2 Down-pipe with 3" flex bolts directly onto the Turbo so YOU NEED NO O2 HOUSING (no new exhaust manifold either) and mounts a Tial 38mm Waste-gate & EWG2 dump tube (dumps un-muffled over-boost exhaust under the engine). Its made for your stock or the un-drilled SBR exhaust manifold. Includes one O2 sensor bung. - EDP-1gE (ext-wg) - $275"

so what they mean is that the O2 is 2 3/4'' then it turns to 3''? im confused. i need a 3'' downpipe not a 2 3/4''. do u think they would modify a 3'' downpipe instead of a 2 3/4''?

why do you NEED 3" over 2 3/4"? i doubt it will make THAT much difference for that first dp bend to be missing a quarter inch.

espically with having an external wastegate. but if you really wanted, it doesn't hurt to email them and ask about making it 3". you'd ###### pay a bit more for the custom pipe though.

on a sidenote that o2 elim pipe is real pretty.

true, im just going to stick w/ what they got and go w/ the that downpipe and the exhaust.

doesnt it look like in the pic that if the alternator would do out, it would be a bi*** to change it?:p
