Defi gauge problem

When I turn on my headlights,My Defi gauges go crazy,blink,and click. The needle sweeps many times until I turn them off. It doesnt happen with the parking lights either. Any Ideas? I was thinking possibly a short. Also my 12v source is tapped into the radio fuse,so I dont see how that would affect my headlights except for illumination.

Have you tried tapping into something else besides the radio fuse?

If you'll notice, sometimes when you turn on your blinkers, it will drain power with each flash.

Head-lights draw a tad-bit of power. You have a short, if it's fluctuating like that.

Tap into a constant from another source, or run a new one for your battery with the proper fuse(s) in place. You can then set up a switch to allow power to your guages.

Thanks for the input. I might do that from the battery,but I might try a different 12v source such as the cigarette lighter.
