Custom 1ga Front grille!

found some old pics the other day in the attic, went to walgreens and scanned some in.


pics of my first dsm turbo build way back!


I guarantee no one has seen a grille like i built when i was 18, almost 27 now...it took me forever and all i remember is all the little cuts on my hands from working with that wire mesh. i ended up disabling the pop up Headlights, took apart the front blinker lights for the buckets and had plexi glass covers made and fitted to the buckets. worked out great until a pickup truck backed up into me and crushed the grille. got $200 from the insurance though just for the grille. check it out. what do you guys think?

TurboTom's brother has a lot of these parts because i swapped most of them over to a AWD i bought, which i sold and is the blue awd he is building now.

I like the way you have your interior set up! IDK about the grill in front of the corner lights, but thats all my opinion, but major props on the work man. Wheels look really good on the ol 1g, I am thinking of upgrading mine!

i loved that interior to, i did a lot of work to get it the way i liked it, it looked killer with the carbon fiber looking seats. it just all flowed so good together. i haven't seen anything that nice lately in any 1g. but yet again the cars are a lot older and are not as clean.

Front Grille = Cool for that time period now adays it would look funny.

well i have a vr4 now but dam after seeing these pics i want to build a 1ga all over again, not sure if i could get those speedo and hvac overlays anymore though. and to find a nice blue one close by would be almost impossible, and i wouldn't want to spend $2500+ just on paint. so it probably won't happen. i love the gaylant anyway, ugly and all!

You can def find the speedo overlay as I have one for my 1g. But the hvac one's are a bit more tricky to get ahold of. I put one on my 2g bout a year ago but havn't tried to find for the first gen. Your vr4 looks great nonetheless although I would drop it a bit and swap out the wheels imo

yes i need to find some springs, i already have agx's with stock springs, and the wheels are 17" Roja Gramlite's , the whole wheel/tire combo is only a half pound heavier than the stock vr4 wheels. if i didn't sorta get them for free, i wouldn't even have aftermarket wheels. i want a sleeper!

Those pics look like they were taken with an old Polaroid Camera from the 70's . The grille is kinda too much IMO, I do like the whole removing the lenses and disabling the popups, thats the worst part of the way a 1ga looks, when the lights are up

The grill was an awesome idea and I don't think it could have been executed any better than you did it. That being said, it doesn't quite work. The rest of the car is/was pimp though. Oh yeah, love the interior and wouldn't mind taking that Galant for a drive.

I have one of those HKS mushroom filters. I didn't know wtf it was when I first got the car. I even asked a few people I knew and no one really knew what it was haha.

Isn't that the original seats that came with the car? looks like the stock seats I had in my 1ga eclipse.
