Just showing my alternator wire swap. From the restrictive two 8 gauge wires to a single 4 gauge wire.

I used hi-temp electrical tape for the harness along with the original wire loom.

The alternator side. I cleaned it up.

The alternator fuse side. I may have to bend the wires for it to fit right.

I used a multimeter on the wires and the 4 gauge had a lesser amount of resistance. Everything is in place and ready to be installed another day.

I got bored and made this little ground wire. Once again its bigger than the stock wire.

So I finished using up the rest of the extra wire that I had. Turns out that I made a Grounding Kit. Here's the ground wires from the transmission, the starter bolt, and the intake manifold(starter wire harness).

I'm going to put these wires in my NT Talon later today.

At least it looks better!

Ok, so I kind of hit a snag, apparently turbo wire harnesses are different from the NT wire harnesses. So I have to take out the NT harness and put in the 4 gauge wire. But I did get most of it done.

How was the drive? Any noises (electrical interference)?

The drive was pretty nice, even though I couldn't get on any straight aways. Definitely noticed a smoother rev. I'm getting a new alternator come soon, so things may be better.

i did my tranny to body 8 gauge and was curious about the alt looks like im gonna have to do it all 8 gauge now :D. will this help the alt with the bigger woire or is it mainly because the wires corroded and deterorating?

I wouldn't use 8 gauge wire for the alternator. To answer your question, it a little bit of both. The wires from factory are small and highly restrictive and they are 15-19 years old. I use tsunami oxygen-free copper wires which is way less restrictive.

That's the same kind of wire I used to make myself a grounding kit. I picked it up dirt cheap from Circuit City's liquidation sales.
