Criminals are so stupid!!!

Ok so a couple of nights ago we had someone break in to our wrecking yard and steal some of my Eclipse parts off my 2gs I have in the yard.

One of the items that I noticed gone immediately was the rear hatch of a 95 Talon I had.

After I did a quick inventory of what may have been taken I walked around the perimeter and found that the person that stole the hatch left there old one laying up against the fence.

So to our surprise there was a vin # on the rear hatch still on it.

Local Police was contacted and they took our report and identified who took the part and are currently looking for him.

How stupid can you be...really?

That's awesome. It's either they were brilliant to leave a decoy not traceable to them which if they were that smart they probably wouldn't steal. Or they were like most criminals and dumb as hell. I'd love to hear is gloating.

I'd press charges and have him pay for damages then seek restitution for pain and suffering. It's hard enough just owning a DSM

As of now they have not located him, but they know where he lives and what he drives.

Its a matter of time when he gets caught.

When they went to his house his sister said he left the state! Ya right .... sister is just covering for his Ass!

Then hatches with Glass aren't cheap... I gave the Officer the cost of getting a brand new one..Ouch!

If he would of asked I would have gave him a hell of a deal...but when you steal you pay the price!

I got a call from the Sheriff's office today and told me they caught the guy and put him in jail and impounded his car.

Ya deputy told me it'll be a week or so to get my hatch back.

Guess its a process to get it back.

And he will get his pos hatch back.

What is more upsetting is a simlar incident happened about 2 years ago where they stripped my 97 Spyder...they stole my 19 wheels and tire all the boltons, gauges, and leather seats.

Never got any of it back.

Felt good to now this guy got caught.

How stupid can you be to leave your the vin number of a vehicle registered in your name at the crime scene.

Wish I had more good Junkyards down here, the closest yard to me said 300$ for a hood and door for a 1g.
