I'm putting the car away for the winter, and want to do the typical teaspoon of oil into each cylinder, and crank it over a couple of times. But, the DSM is new for me this year, and I'm not sure what's the easiest way to disable the fuel to the injectors.

From searching, I know the 1G's have the MPI fuse at the battery, or the relay can be pulled under the stereo at the console.

But for 2G's, all I could find is to pull the line right at the fuel pump under the back seat. But isn't that overkill? I don't need pressure relieved.. just fuel off at the injectors. There has to be an easier way?

Is there not a fuse I can pull on the 2G? I looked for "MPI" in the main box, but saw nothing. Any suggestions?

I am pretty sure that you can just pull the injector clips off of the injectors, that way the injectors just won't open. If I'm wrong, someone please correct me.

Hi. Take your backseat out. Its just two tabs you pull on and the seat will lift up. There will be two silver plates. The one that has the black rubber boot in the middle you want to remove. Under it there will be the fuel pump housing. Disconnect the white connector. Thats it. You can crank the motor over then.

This is also what you would do if you were to do a compression test or if you wanted to depressurize your fuel system in order to install injectors, fuel pump, fpr etc.

You dont even have to open the fuse box. I could be wrong, but my injectors wouldnt fire because I had a bad resistor pack(silver box on firewall). Unplug that.

Now the real question is why park an awd? :)

If all the plugs are out, you don't really need to crank it over. The oil will find its own way. Pull them, put in a little bit (not more than a teaspoon's worth) and put the plugs back.

Marvel Mystery Oil is excellent for seasonal lay-up.

BlueTurboSpyder: I didn't know it was that easy to take the seat out. Thanks for the tip.

luv2rallye: figured there had to be one, I was just looking for specifically one called "MFI", not labeled as "Engine". Thanks for your post.

TJGoSurf: "why park an awd?". They just plaster the roads with salt during the winter. It's crazy.. we don't get much snow in the Southern part of Ontario (relatively speaking of course!! about half what Buffalo gets). We don't need that much salt, but they dump it on anyways.. must have to meet a quota??

Defiant: thanks for the advice.. always assumed it had to be cranked over. I'll check for Marvel.
