Ok so im in the middle of doing my rebuild, I have the block on an engine stand and started putting it back together last night.

I got new main and rod bearings and rings. It says in the Haynes to torque down the main caps to 18 then a 90degree turn start from the inside out. I did this and the crank spun fine, next i put in all the pistons and and caps and said 14.5 ft lbs then a 90degree turn, does all this sound right?

With the pistons in and torqued it would spin fine about halfway then get hard and bind then spin free again, it says in the manual theres suppose to be no binding and spin by hand but it doesnt.

Any suggestions? Did I mess up somewhere?:notgood: thanks guys

I used bad ass Lucas assembly lube, nice and thick.

You really need to plastic gauge all the bearings. It sounds like you have one or more rod bearings to tight. None the less you need to plastic gauge them all. Start over with plastic gauge and it'll tell ya if your tolerances are within spec. You could have to little tolerance on the mains as well and it'll spin now till it eats a bearing.

Did you have the crank turned, polished, cut? New bearings? Mitsu bearings? What size?

Always Plastigauge your oil clearances when doing a rebuild... what if you have a defective bearing? Did you put all the caps back in the same location they came from?
