Crank sensor wiring

I have a dilemma according to my Haynes manual the ck sensor says the middle pin on the ck connector is my power supply and pin 3 being ground. The current way the harness is(factory) these are reversed. Does anyone know which is the correct way? I don't want to switch them as I think it would cause damage if its the wrong way. Any and all help is always appreciated

How many wires does the new one have and the old one? Are they different?

They both have three wires. I have noticed between my haynes manual and other sources that there are discrepancies so I am trying to find out what others know so I can further diagnose my car

Use a test light put it on the positive battery terminal then test the 2 wires. Grounds are always constant so which ever one lights thats the ground.

I know my pos+, ground and signal wires. What I dont know is the oder they go in. According to the Haynes manual pin#1 is signal pin #2 is power and pin#3 ground. The two harnesses that I have the ground and power are opposite according to the manual so I dont know if these harnesses are for my 95 or for another year

If im not mistaken the same thing happened to me when i changed mine out. I even called the company that gave me the"instructions" and he said to take the old sensor to the new one and each wire should go in the same order from left to right. What i did is i took the old senor,matched up one wire at a time going by the color codes and thats how i identified what wire to hook up to on the new sensor. I havnt had any problems and ive been driving around with the new sensor for probably like a year now.
