Well I have a high stall 9" billit converter set around 4500rpm. I am having a hell of a time controlling temps. I have one of the larger trans fluid coolers IPT sells but I bought it so long ago I forget exactly which one. It is set between the front mount and radiator. I have rewired my OD button to control my TC and when it's locked and I'm going down the freeway temps are depending on ambient air between 170 and 180. I took a 2100 mile road trip last year with the car and this was very consistent.

Now if I unlock the TC even just to pass a car or have some fun on the highway I see 200-210 within a few moments. If I brake torque it takes a while to build boost so I'm almost at 200 degrees before I leave the line. After a 1-2-3 run I'm at 220-230....

I was considering a few things

A. Put a fan on the current cooler
B. Add a second cooler to the old side mount location
C. Add a fan and a second cooler

My only problem is the car sees 0 degrees as well as 100 degrees so I need to be able to warm it up as well as cool it off. I'm guessing cooling it off is more important than warming it up though so for now I will focus on that.

Any one with experience with high stall converters I wonder if you guys are having the same problems and how you remedied them....
