Considering purchase of 95 GSX. Need advice

Seller is asking $5k for a 95 GSX 5-speed, with 158,000 miles on it. Clutch and timing belt were recently replaced.

Does this sound like a good deal? I am worried about the high miles.

that might be a little high of a price for that many miles... 2 years ago I paid 6k for mine with 122k miles on it... new tranny/clutch new windshield, new headlights, new transfer case, and a new sunroof. For what it's worth, my main bearings went out at 147k, with 20k of driving with over 300whp...

Hi There...

I got my 95 with 103,000 for $7500 on it.. I would sugguest that you take it to the local Mitsu dealer and have them do a full used car inspection and crankwalk check on it. It
cost me like $75 for that here in Richmond VA. ( I hear that some dealers are charging more for the crankwalk check which is BS!!)

If the car checks out and is in good shape then go for it... My 95 looked as if it was fresh off the line when I got it... Carfax checked out... and the dealer "fixed" all the issues that Mitsu found during the check... (Clutch, Master Cyl.,Axles, Tbelt (I don't think they did the Balance shaft belt(bastards), brakes, and that was it...) Mitsu did not find any crank walk but I had them replace the Throw out bearings... just to be safe... I have had the car for almost 2 years and it runs tip top... But I don;t drive it much... I have only put 2500 mi on so...
