Well my car has been down for a month so far, connector rod broke so i need a new crank, bearings and connector rod i guess, the engine/tranny are out of my car and they started taking it apart and sending the crank out tomorrow hopefully so it will be at least another week till i get 2 drive again.... anything i can do thats cheap or important while my engine is out?

Some random ideas:

- How many miles do the timing belt and waterpump have on them?
- Clean the lifters?
- MCCC/seafoam/brake fluid/ATF piston decarbonizing?
- Polish the valve cover?
- Install shifter bushings for better shifts? (Check ebay for some, or search for ideas using washers)
- Any accessories that might need replacing soon? (P/S pump, alternator, etc.)
- A/C need recharging?
- Leaking oil from anywhere? Now would be a good time to replace seals (front/rear crankshaft seals, front case seal, camshaft seals, valve cover gaskets)

A lot of the ones I mentioned aren't cheap, but they may as well be done now when you don't have to fight with the engine mounts and the strut tower being right in your way if you can do them.
