Hey guys, I just got my greddy 24r fmic on today. Im having a problem with it. I have got compressor surge with it. Like when im under acelleration and i push in the clutch the rpms jump up about 800 or so. This didnt happen when i was stock with smic. I had the fmic pressure tested and it held up to 35psi fine no leaks. What could be causing this. Im not sure what to look for. thanks guys

my car is kinda like that.. when i accelerate and go for the next gear, my rpm's jump up a tad... i think its because the engine is going at a pretty fast acceleration rate, and when you push the clutch in and take off all the load, it continues to accelerate.... mine doesnt go 800 rpm's up... but its more like 2-300... compressor surge has more of a bouncy effect.. like you let off the gas and your car will jerk... haha i cant even explain it.. but that just means ure BOV is set too tight and that extra boost cant get let out before it gets back to the turbo.. hope i helped :thumb:

gotcha thanx man but i cant adjust mine cuz i have a 1gn bov. but if i get a greddy or an adjustable one that will help it?? thanks

If it's really compressor surge you should be able to hear it.

yeah if you get any aftermarket one (tial, blitz, greddy, hks, and so on) there will be a little nut with an allen head (at least mine is like that) and you can adjust spring tension that way.. they are quite the investment... kinda spendy for the average guy though, but i'm sure some one on here has one for sale.. just ask around :dsm:

Your best bet is to get a greddy. Don't go out and buy a tial, blitz, tuboXS(crap anyways). Unless you plan on going with a VPC or GM Maft also. I have had 3 greddy BOV's and now I have the RS and I have loved all of them. You can find them on here for not that much. They are not "kinda spendy" for anyone. It is a investment in my opinion. How much boost are you running on the 14b? You can go with an HKS which is a very reliable BOV you just need to get a recirc kit. Thats why I always buy greddy. You get it in the mail and go put it right on in a matter of minutes, and it again is a good investment for you. Also does your BOV flutter when you let off the gas or shift? That is the sign of compressor surge. Hope this helps and hope everything turns out good. Later,
-Mike

yea i have a new problem now guys. when i did that modification that magnusmotorsports talks about on how to get ur ecu not to check for any problems with moving the barometric pressure outside of its threshold, it ####ed everything up. I now have problems with the engine it wont idle and bogs like shit. shitty acelleration and everything. I get the error code P0204 it means Injector No.4 output driver not responding properly. I took the mod out and still wont fix the problem. I have talked to a few people saying the injector is bad and the ecu is fine. Is this true???? Please help me

thanks guys
