Hi sorry to ask this question. I searched but couldn't get a straight answer. I'm about to buy my pistons and was wondering what would be better. I plan on turboing it later on down the road. Either 8.8:1 or 10.5:1.

Lower compression for boost as the turbo will raise it.

low compression high boost
high compression low boost

It depends on what fuel you'll be running. 91/93 go lower, E85/Race go higher.

Yea ill just be running 91/93. Ok thanks. Also I heard that if u have low compression with out turbo it doesn't run to good. Is this true? I plan on turboing eventualy but not sure how long it will take to get the money.

Low compression without the assistance of a turbo will be slower than stock - keep that in mind.

Several members have run 10.5 compression with a turbo - do not let it scare you. It just takes skilled tuning and attention to knock/detonation to prevent catastrophic damage from occurring.

Links to someone running 10.5:1 on 91/93? I'd love to read about it!

Kevin Jewer ran 10:1 on 93, but i'm not sure what turbo or boost pressures he used.

Timing was in the single digits IIRC.

Search on 2gnt. As I've stated many times, I'm not afraid of "high comp" (keep in mind that we are 9.6 stock, so 10.5 on forged pistons is not that scary) provided you have a proper tune.

Searching now, but what kind of boost/flow/timing were they seeing with a turbo 10.0:1 or better on 91/93?
