So I got my engine installed and my clutch is right off the floor now. I have sent the pedal assembly to shep and they "repaired it".. but i still feel like theres a little slop in it still, I have a newer master, brand new slave, oem tob, forged clutch fork and an ss line from master to slave. I have all the air out of the system and it still engages off the floor. what am i missing here? ive watched jacks video and adjusted as noted. still off the floor, I have a act2600 clutch with a xact flywheel. I ordered a new fidanza flywheel because im suspecting that my flywheel is stepped wrong. Anything else I can try before pulling the tranny that has been on for less then a day.

Where is you "newer" master cylinder from? Only reason I as is this reason..

Parts store brand VS OEM.. second pic the right one has the same threads as the first pic, and left is barely hanging on its last thread. This was the reason my clutch engaged just off the floor for 3 years.. Spend the money on an OEM master.

Yeah I'm pretty certain that won't apply to the 1g my friend. However, Go to your local parts store and buy the cheapest MC you can for a 97-99 car. Go home and swap the rod from the 2g unit to your 1g one. It will add an extra inch or so of thread for you to get your pedal off the floor.

There is still something wrong with the pedal assembly but this way you can work around it at least. There is a write-up somewhere I'll edit this when I find it.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand.... SHIZAM!

Oh I forgot to mention. If this does work for you, put your old 1g MC rod in the 2g MC you just bought and return it to the store. That makes this mod FREE although someone will most likely buy that down the road and wonder why there is a shorter rod on it. Which is most likely what happened in the pics above. That is not the correct rod for the 2g MC.

Not only do I think that is terrible advice but I bet he runs into the same issue with the master cylinder. If you want to buy another master cylinder a couple years down the road, keep the parts store brand. Like I said, I only had mine for 3 years and when I removed it it was already leaking into the cabin. Buy the quality part the first time and dont half ass it. This is the exact reason DSMs get a shitty rap because people do half ass shit like ^^ that then wonder why things dont work or break all the time.

Regardless of which "brand" master cylinder he gets the result will be the same, he will need more rod length due to geometry in the pedal assembly being off.

He can get a factory master cylinder and still use a rod from a crappy parts store master cylinder.

Or maybe you're suggesting that the use of an aftermarket master cylinder rod will cause his bore seals to leak?

BTW I'm not sure why you would have a to buy and new master cylinder when EVERY parts store MC comes with a lifetime warranty

I will agree it's hit-or-miss with parts store items (mostly miss).

Just installed a oem slave and master and it's still off the floor and also the strange thing is I adjusted the master almost all the way out and the master doesn't block off the slave when you twist the rod almost all the way out were it almost comes out of the pin slot any reasons why it's not blocking the slave from bleeding back?
