well i put a new clutch in, a act2100 and a new flywheel, car has been sitting for quite some time and now the pedal only comes off the floor maybe 4 inches, and it is adjusted all the way, why wont it return all the way to the top, if i turn the adjuster the other way the pedal just gets really mushy and doesnt want to work the clutch. thanks for the help guys!!!!

The hydraulic clutch fluid most likely needs to be bled, there may be bubbles in the lines. Also check the clutch fluid level if you haven't already. If you still have this problem, you probably should replace the clutch master and slave cylinders.

When it comes to adjusting your clutch its a very tricky thing. (Atleast in my experience) I would suggest not doing it by yourself. From what you said I would suggest bleeding the clutch because like said above it sounds like you have air bubbles in the line. Do you see any clutch fluid leaking anywhere inside the car by the pedals? If so then your Master cylinder needs to be replaced. If not then you will solve your problems by properly bleeding your clutch. I would also suggest a stainless steel clutchline. They are VERY nice and make a world of difference.

Since you have a 1g i would check your clutch pedal assembly as they tend to wear out. If you push your clutch down and it doesn't come all the way up but you can pull it up a little bit more thats probably the clutch pedal assembly. YOu can check by looking underneath (up at the clutch master cylinder rod) and push the pedal down adn up and if the rod to the master cylinder doesn't move but the pedal does you will have to pull the whole pedal assembly and weld it, its a b*tch but it must be done. Look into it then do a search and you will come up with tons of threads and how to's.

Refer to clutch pedal assembly in the TECH GUIDE. You'll hate ripping it out, but you'll love rock steady clutch feel ... no more play right to left, and you will have eliminated the main clutch problems - but not the only one.
