my clutch pedal is stuck to the floor and i know its either my master or slave but i dont know how to figure out which one it is? i have a brand new clutch in there and the other day i was driving and when i pushed in the clutch it never came back up and it just feels dead now. Yes, there is brakefluid/clutch fluid but does anyone know how to diagnose exactly which part it is master or slave, and is this going to be very difficult todo, also if anyone has any how tos on this that would be great!

Check the inside and outside of the firewall by the master cylinder for fluid. Then pull back the rubber boot on the slave cylinder and check for a leak. In either case they should be replaced as a pair. There are on onslaught of threads about this already.

yea i know i was looking at them as well but they didnt really address the diagnosis to distinguish which one was exactly the problem and i dont have the money to buy both, i have enough for either or.

Also check that your clutch fork isn't broken, my pedal went to the floor when mine broke. It's the thing sticking out of the tranny that pushes on the slave cylinder. It should hardly have any play in it.

yea, this happened to my friend not to long ago and his pedal stayed down, first he thought it just needed a bleed and then after the bleed it kept staying down, so i inspected the master and slave cylinders and i found the slave to be missing a bolt, found the piece of bolt head in the engine compartment and it was causing a pressure leak, therefore not letting the clutch engage, just my .02 cents

i just bought the slave so well see what happens but the problem is i dont know how to bleed it and ive read a few of those things about bleeding it but im not sure if i 100% understand it

its gotta b the slave cylinder when u take it out see if the rod slides out fast if it does its most likely the slave cylinder i had the same problem with my car and it was the slave cylinder

+1.

Always a possibility. When I bought the my car it had a broken fork. There were 3 bottles of DOT 4 fluid in the trunk/hatch. Obviously the previous owner diagnosed the problem incorrectly.

i replaced the slave and i found out it was leaking but now the clutch is still not working im not sure if its because im not bleeding it right or what but there arent any more leaks
