I have some of the worst luck ever.....

Finally understand where its coming from but havn't narrow it down to the culprit yet.

Situation looks gloomy for my car....

Situation goes like this......

1. The clutch is finally sqeeking when I try to depress (meaning press down) the clutch, its sqeechs and vibrates and causes the rpm to drop slightly while car is in nuetral. Finally on my way home today from work, slowing down to a red light, put the car in neutral and then just depress the clutch pedal just before putting it in gear one, it kill the car. It felt like loss of pressure or something.

2. So i decided to check out whats causing it by turning to the haynes automotive repair book on the clutch part.
Haynes said to determine if the clutch is going out do this and that. First to check resivoir if low, add liquid, if leak, bleed and replace lines. Second, check to see if gear sensor lock or gear pressure lock engange and disengage, by depressing and unpressing the clutch pedal, if no noise then its ok, if noise the the clutch sensor is bad. Third, check if gear is smooth, so tested it in gear one and reverse with parking brakes on, first gear was kinda smooth, more like soft soft going in, and reverse was ok, little bit of crunch but not too loud to notice.

3. After doing that for awhile, while having the clutch depress and unpress, notice a smoke venting from near the crank tranfers case down by the block near the front passenger side.

4. Let go of clutch, turn car off, waited for somke to clear, then attempted to turn car back on, but the clutch felt so hard when depressing it down, try to pop it in first gear and would buldge, try it in all gears and same result.

5. I call my mitsu mechanic guy and explain all this and he said two things could be the root of the cause.
1. My clutch could be going out and needed replace or my flywheel is sticking to my disc or pressure plate.
2. My tranny could be going out and could cost alot more to fix.

6. I.E. First my tranny doesn't slip nor grind to harshly.
Second have no record of the clutch ever been work on.
Third what a bad day I have, slip on ice and fell, injured my left arm, car nearly quite on me while coming home, now at home car decided to die, great.

Help.....help.....help......what to do next.......any suggestion now could really hellp save alot of money.....thanks.....

It sounds like for some reason the clutch isn't disengaging the flywheel. Confirm the hydraulics are working properly. What does that mean? Make sure when you push the clutch pedal down, the slave cylinder on the bottom/front of the transmission is moving fully. If the slave cylinder isn't moving, try bleeding the system. If that doesn't help, replace the hydraulic parts ie the slave and master cylinders. IF it is moving, the clutch fork or throwout bearing, or even the clutch itself could be the problem. I'd remove the transmission and have a look!

The squeaking that you hear is probably the throw-out bearing pushing the fingers of the pressure plate inward, to dis-engage the clutch disc from the flywheel.

If you're saying it feels like the pedal lost pressure, it's probably a simple hydraulic problem.

1. Get under your dash and see if your carpet is wet near the clutch pedal. If it is, you're leaking brake fluid from the master cylinder, through the firewall (assuming your carpet isn't already wet from wet shoes).
2. Check the master cylinder from under the hood. (Driver's side, mounted to firewall). See any fluid on/below/around it?
3. Check fluid level in master cylinder.
4. Get under the car, in front of the transmission. Have a friend, wife, dad, sister, or Sasquatch push the clutch pedal in. While he/she/it is doing that, watch the slave cylinder (like carbide was saying). You're looking to see if the pin pushes the throw-out fork. If it does, then good.
5. If everything checked out good this far, bleed the system. Give it one hell of a good bleeding, too. Take your time with it.
6. You could try adjusting the master cylinder, the nut may have become loose and threw itself out of whack. (You do this from under the dash, there's instructions all over for this).
7. If none of this helped, pull out the gloves because you're going to get dirty.

Well I already check not leaking any fluids at all, and that i dont have the neccessary tools to jack my car up to look underneath since i live in an apartment building...well i try to depress the clutch to disengage the fork from the fly wheel but it feels like its so hard and shit to press down on it....i'll probably let a mechanic take a look at it...only things is i will have to pay for towing....any place selling good deals on clutch set up....

If the clutch feels like you're pushing your foot against a concrete wall, your master cylinder could have 'pumped' itself up. It can do this when improperly adjusted. Also, not good, it plays hell on the thrust bearing. Try re-adjusting the clutch (like I said, you need to get under the dash).

There is a rod coming out of the firewall to the clutch pedal. There's a nut on the rod, it's a 12mm. There is also another nut, at the top of the pedal with the cruise-disengage button attached to it. This nut is 14mm and is used to adjust pedal freeplay.
IF the master cylinder pumped itself up, it's because you didn't have enough pedal freeplay. I can't remember exactly how much freeplay is recommended for our cars, I want to say 0.25 inch but don't quote me.

Well I wont know exactly what wrong with it, after testing it the way Haynes Repair book say to so....but i'll probably just let my mechanic guy do it for me....best not to mess with it any more than it already is....i'll just play it safe and bring it to him....but anyway thanks.....
