Hi, I am going to be doing a clutch and lsd install shortly and I want to make sure that I have all the parts. So far I have or have to get these items

1.New flywheel bolts
2. ACT 2100 clutch with ACT street disc
3. XACT Flywheel
4. BMtranny LSD
5. OEM TOB?

The TOB I am a little confused on. It came with the nachi bearing, but it has an inner plastic sleeve and looks almost stock from the PIctures I see on the net. So is the Nachi bearing all metal or does it also have a plastic sleeve? Can I use this? ALso any other parts that are recommended for a clutch install, please let me know. Thanks

Lately, people have been saying that the ACT clutch kits come with a plastic sleeved (perhaps even OEM) throwout bearing, so if you've purchased the kit within the past few months, then you're probably ok using the ACT one. If you don't want to chance it, just get an OEM one, too. I attached a picture of an OEM one.

If you got an ACT clutch kit, then it should have included an alignment tool (along with the disc, pressure plate, and throwout bearing). If not, I highly recommend getting one.

Also, you're going to want some tranny fluid for when your transmission leaks some while you're moving it around.

I don't see a helper on your list. You'll definately will want some help. Also, at least two floor jacks and if you can pick up a tranny plate that will help a lot. Air tools are nice for getting to the rear motor mount. I found that when you are pulling the axles, it's easier if you remove the steering tie rod, and the two bolts that hold the lower A-arm one. I figured this out the hard way. Also, when you get the tranny out, follow the VFAQ LSD install, it makes it a piece of cake.

Also, you'll need a huge socket, 36MM (I think) for the 5th & reverse nuts.

Good luck, and enjoy your new traction and grip :thumb:

ARe you guys using the phantom or b&m lsd what do you guys think about it and is it worth it on a daily driver car?

do a search. From what I heard the B&M is better because it has stronger springs, but there are a bunch of threads about it, including a few reviews about it over on talk and dsmrevews.com
