Hey guys got a question... Now that I am running 15 pounds of boost. (on my stock t25) I know thats about stock boost but my wastegate bracket was bent so I was only making about 10 pounds. It seemed like it slipped a little in 4th gear on the highway at maybe about 3500 rpms. It still seemed like the boost was increasing but I let off because it SEEMED like it was slipping. But anyway. I just bought a FP bt28 turbo. Plan on running 17 pounds. And I just got exhaust and other little bolt ons, but nothing major. What is a good clutch kit for me to get? For the once or twice a year track and daily driven car with onyl those mods. I want something thats not going to premature wear on my thrust bearings. And something thats not going to eat my wallet!!!
Also I dont know how my flywheel is. What does it mean by stepped? I know what it is to machine one but whats the step mean?
So basicly I need something strong, last long, and will not make my crank start to dance around! (walk) What do you guys reccomend! Thanks!
Tony

I would say that a 2100 is all what you would be needing for now, but if you have a big leg and you are planning on going even bigger (turbo)later on i would go for the 2600.
About the flywheel, its all about compromising, you already know how it works so lets skip that part. I decided to keep my stock flywheel with my 2600 in my awd, this was after trying a light wheel flywheel, and yes you are right the rpm drops way faster, i guess this is not good for drag racing where you want the rpm to stay as high as it can between shifts.

For road racing the light weight flywhell would get out of the corner faster ,so it comes down to you and what kind of racing sport you would be doing.

I like the Centerforce dual friction clutch. Check www.roadraceengineering.com for more info (click on 2G and then on drivetrain). As for step, you machine a flywheel to a specific "step" for example you machine a flywheel to 0.609" step height.

ACT makes a nice light weight flywheel, its not a light as the Fidanza kind of a nice in between that and stock. I have the Fidanza and I love it. It does loose rpm's quick if you let it, but between shifts I don't even notice it.

also if I decide to just go out and buy a stock replacement flywheel from an auto parts store. (I get discounts at auto stores) Will I have to take it to get stepped yet? or will it be stepped correctly from new? I also made the descion to get the ACT2100. But now whats a good flywheel. one that can disapate the heat well and last long. Not worried about weight so much. also dont want to eat the wallet.

The ACT is made from forged Chrome-Moly Steel. As for the cheapest place you will have to do some shopping around. Any new flywheel should be stepped correctly, but you should check it before installing.

Check ebay for cheapest prices. I found my Fidanza there for about $180. I figured that it was probably going to be about $50 to resurface mine, so it really would only cost $130.
