After watching Jacks tutorial on how to adjust the clutch,I decided it was time to give it a try. I loosened the nut on the adjustment rod, turned clockwise and kept checking to see when the slave cylinder would no longer move as stated in the video. I adjusted the rod all the way out,but never reached the point of the check valve.

Why am I not reaching this point? After reaching the end, I backed it out a half an inch counter clockwise, and tightened the nut. Is this an acceptable point to leave it?

I wanna bump this thread because I am having the same issue on a 1G. If i cant get to the point where the slave stops, does it mean there is a problem?

It's the same on my 1g. I think the 2g adjustment rods are longer, so they would be prone to that. I'm not sure though

To be honest i don't think 1g's have the same valve in the master as the 2g cars do, therefore this wouldn't apply to them. I could be wrong since i haven't messed with a 1g in a long time but i think this is why they call it "2g pedal pump up" and not just pedal pump in general.

EDIT: I was right!! (yey!)

Here's a quote from the RRE site stating that the relief valve is a "2g only" thing
RRE webpage said:
Only 2Gs have a relief valve in the master cylinder that needs to be uncovered so fluid can go back into the reservoir on the clutch release. If not, it gets tighter and tighter and tighter. Then it may slowly relieve the pressure and it is back to normal. Just a 2G thing. You need more free play at the top of the pedal travel.

Ok after reading this it makes sense on why all my autozone mc did the check valve thing. My oem master doesn't do this after I replaced it with an oem.
