Hey all, I've lost heaps of performance all throughout the rev range - can barely build boost and the idle sounds like a dying tractor. Recently the a/c belt popped off and has since been removed. Wideband o2 cable fell into the pulley and messed up itself and the belt. Some of the insulation from the wires came off and I wrapped it in electrical tape and the wideband is giving out readings just fine.
It idles really lean and cruises pretty rich.
I took a video of it at idle if you guys have heard it before. I am 100% it's not idle surge, not a vacuum leak nor boost leak. Spark plugs are not fouled.
Could an injector have failed? Brand new wires and plugs only a month old.
Thanks for your input guys!

100% it isn't a boost/vacuum leak. Is that because you completed a boost leak test, or everything was okay prior to the problem with the AC belt.

Everything you've described, from the tractor sound, to the lean at idle/rich at cruise, sounds exactly like a boost leak.

Timing belt was changed in February. BLT was done - no leaks. I am going to confirm tonight that I've got spark and proper timing with a gun. If it is the timing belt jumping teeth, is there an easy way to get it back to proper timing without getting into the nitty gritty of a timing belt replacement?

Was the belt tensioner changed as well with that? If the belt indeed skipped a tooth and the tensioner was not replaced I suggest buying the tensioner and pulleys to do the job the proper way. Otherwise next time you might not be so lucky. A compression test might be in order as we'll.

Also I would suggest starting from the beginning and not skip any steps regarding the timing belt if it is indeed the problem.[DOUBLEPOST=1408060796][/DOUBLEPOST]Btw don't check it with a gun. Just pull the cover off the cam gears and just make sure the marks are lining up with the crank pulley on tdc. If I remember correctly they should line up every two revolutions.

So I checked the cam gears and they are lining up great. But the crankshaft pulley is not where it's supposed to be (marked by the t on the plate adjacent to the pulley). Is it possible for the cams to stay in timing with each other while the crank is off (two teeth it looks like!)?
Or am I doing that wrong

Great video - thanks for that. Thanks for your input guys. Here it is at Top Dead Centre :(

Well, did the t-belt over the weekend and everything is running much better - but far from perfect. I've got all the signs of bent valves. Going to try and pull the engine this weekend
If anyone would find it helpful - I don't mind posting some pictures and doing a little write-up
Also thanks again for everyone's input on the thread here
