I just bought some FP1s for my 6 bolt and I am in the market for some cam gears. I was looking at the fidanza and the aem gears and I see that they are about $100 apart from the one another. What exactly are the differences between the two? If somebody has first or reliable second hand experiences about either of these gears, I would like to hear about it. Thanks.

Also, I did a search and didn't quite get the answers I wanted.

All I can tell you is the Fidanza gears are high quality and I've never had a problem with them. We install and sell lots of them just because of the major price difference.

Has anybody had problems with the AEMs slipping because they have 3 bolts instead of 4 or 5? Also, I heard that the fidanzas may slip because the bolt backs out a little. The last thing I need is another broken motor from slippage of gears.

I feel like I'm talking to a wall whenever I make a thread.

I've been looking around a little more and in the ~300 price range, there is a decent selection of cam gear choices. The Unorthodox Racing Tuner series, AEM (The 5 bolt looks good), skunk2, hks, and fidanza. I just want a set of gears that are reliable, won't slip, and have the measurements etched on and not painted.

We install alot of them at our shop and they are damn good, and so is the price

I've run the 3 bolt AEMs for 5 years now... two different sets on two different cars. I've never had a problem with them Easy to read the marks and easy to change. Sorry, but i don't have any experience with the fidanzas.

Cool, fidanzas have not failed on anybody, from your expierences? Sounds pretty good for the price. I'll get a pair when my next paycheck comes in. I'm just plain broke.

Also, thanks for all of your replies and if there is anybody else who wants to chime in, feel free.

I have a set of STR pro cam gears and they have worked great with no slippage. You might not even need adjustable gears with the fp2's. Ive got the comp 101200's and dynoed last week. I ended up with the ex cam 2* retarded and the intake at zero.
