Check engine light after tranny replaced

I just replaced the transmission and now it starts really hard and when I drive it for 2 minutes the check engine light will come on, I tried to use a volt meter but it's very hard to tell because it's very uneven and when I used a bulb its too dim to tell? But I have ECM ink, can I check the codes that way? Or can I download a computer program to plug into my ecu? Because I have the wire to plug connect my computer to ecu. Thanks in advance

yes you can check it via ecmlink. it will be under the DTC tab and hit update DTC's
