CD changer NOT WORKING!

ok so i brought a new magazine seeing how when i brought the car it was missing, i put it in and the head unit still reads 0-00-0 or whatever. Whats wrong the Changer powers up and moves through the magazine but wont play them..... HELP please!

Are you playing burned CDs or originals? Mine does the same with burned CDs. The stock CD changer isn't the best anyhow so I'm thinking of replacing my head unit and changer with an aftermarket one.
