OK I know I read something about this before, and I did search, but all I find is info pertaining to the rear 02 sensor after the cat... so here goes my question...

I bought a 3" downpipe w/ cat elimination. I was going to install it today, but I notice it has no bung for the 02 sensor that would normally go before the cat.

So what would be my best option?

1: Wrap up the o2 sensor (before the cat) in foil and secure it safely somewhere under the car.
2: Install a bung on the DP at about the same area the o2 sensor would normally be.
3: Rewire the 02 sensors so that the rear becomes the front, and wrap off the old "front" 02 sensor. (just a theory I thought, of if even possible)

I don't want my car to run rich or a CEL light... any other options I can consider?

Also off topic I should have no problems bolting a 3" flange to a 2.5" flange right? (cat-back flange after the cat is 2.5" because it was made to bolt up to stock)

I personally have an o2 bung installed where the catback pipe begins. I have a 3" HF cat installed, so this way when I switch to a test pipe as I please, there won't be any situations with the o2 sensor. I'm not too familiar with the 3rd method you mentioned, but obviously you know what your options are, so it's a matter of which one to go with. Each one should prevent you from getting a CE light, the 1st method would seem the easiest, but the 2nd would seem to be the most "proper" method. I would like to set it and forget it, so thats the way I would go with if I were in your shoes.

good luck!

OMG I'm on crack sorry... I got mixed up. my cat-back has an o2 bung on it right after the cat w/ the o2 sensor installed. I could've sworn I put an o2 sensor on my hi-flow cat because it has 2 bungs on it in front. But I looked under my car and I just used oil pan plugs to cap them off. :coy:

..and I posted that 3rd option because I thought there were 3 o2 sensors. LOL :tease: :toobad:

I need to wake up still, especially before starting this job...
