I want to say that I have searched the threads but could find out my problem?

I do know that I have to replace an o-ring on the cas to have it stop leaking oil, but the cas has some kind of plastic looking o-ring on it now. My ? is should I cut out this plastic o-ring and replace it with the rubber o-ring I got from mitsu. I just want to know if anyone can chime in on this for me as im confused about it.

It's a 92 cas with the green cover on it and it works fine just drips oil out onto the tranny. at idle I wont see it leak a drop but if i go driving for a bit I pop the hood and theres oil on my tranny and I could see the trail mark comming out of the cas area.

I replaced the o ring on mine because it had turned to plastic and dripped like yours. When I pulled off the o ring and broke, then I slid on the new one and have no problems.

Yeah, that 'plastic' ring should definitely be replaced . . . when the rubber hardens from heat over time, it loses its ability to seal properly (hence . . . your leak).

Lube a new o-ring up with some clean oil, slide it on and re-install the CAS (make sure it is an O-ring designed to withstand petrol products, otherwise it will disintegrate over time. :thumb:

Thank you for your input guys. Thats what I also thought that the rubber o-ring turned to a plastic looking one but wasn't quite sure. I guess I will cut that old crap one out and replace it with the new o-ring I bought from the dealer.

No prob. . . I ran into the same situation when I first got my car and the o-rings for the injectors. Had NO idea they were supposed to be soft and plyable (never had a fuel injected engine before . . .)

Good luck and make sure to set that base timing ;)
