Car won't start now.

First of all a shop changed my exhaust manifold gasket and forgot one of the lower exhaust mani bolts and my car was smoking when i went to the gas station.When i drove back they told me oil was coming out the bolt hole they are telling me cracked head.Also the car has been idling like it has cams since that day and just yestarday it didnt start that morning after minutes of cranking it idled for 1/2 a second and backfired open DP BOOM.
Btw put the bolt back on and no oil has leaked out.

What bolt hole? There is suppose to be a stud in there, why is it missing. Is it the 2nd one from the bottom left? Oil galley are very close to some of those stud holes. If this problem was not there when you hand them the keys, I suspect they broke the stud during removal, extracted it and and either crack the head or drilled into the oil passages in the process. Didn't even have the decency to put a new stud in there.

Why are you not holding the shop responsible for this? Is there something else you left out?

yeah, ummmm they are responsible for that. I had a big issue with bringing my car to a shop when I first bought my dsm. My clutch went and the guy never put the bolts on the rear mount that holds that engine and tranny, when they put it off the lift, I went to drive it and alllll of a sudden, the biggest knocking noises occured. He told me it was my "control arms" yeah, well my FU^*&^%&%$^ tranmission case cracked and they wouldnt even take the blame for it, he was like "o yeah, i forgot to tell you, ## tierod is gone too. It cost me a good amount of money to get fixed (got a new tranny and took them to small claims and he went to jail for not having a lisence to fix cars...

Enough of my story, go to them and get it fixed. You have a CRACKED HEAD!, thats a nice new head you can get and take it to a small claims.....I get bored on rainy day's so thats what I would do.

Yes, you can use a bolt for now but it will not do you any good if in fact the head is cracked. As for the starting part,

1. Was any other work done besides the exhaust manifold gasket? Any other problems prior besides exhaust leak before you gave them the car. Did they touch the plug wires?

2. Check for fuel : Pull the return fuel hose off the fpr, crank the car to make sure you have fuel.

3. Check for spark : Pull one plug wire at a time, attach an old plug and ground it on the IM. Crank the car to make sure you have spark on all four.

4. Compression test.
