Replugged battery terminals after installing a short ram intake, got in the car and tried to start and heard a pop.

My dad looked and all the fuses and there aren't any blown fuses, no smoke either or smell. We unplugged and plugged the battery terminals and got in the car and flicked the security switch 4 times and then tried to start again but it won't start. Lights and radio and all the power stuff turns on but the car does not start.

Security system beeped crazily, the red security light kept blinking and then it just stopped and the car locked itself and turned on the rear lights and the front yellow lights. When we press the button on the security remote to lock the door, it makes a noise but nothing happens. It also makes a ticking sound.

We're thinking it's the security system in lock down or security mode but have no idea how to unlock it since we bought this car used and it didn't come with the manual.

Any help and input would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: Forgot to add in that it's a PurSuit security system, looked for the alarm online but couldn't find it.

Did you make SURE you connected it right? That pop, from inside (ECU) or outside (main fusible link, black, diag from the rest, 80amp)?

Pretty sure it's connected right, pos to pos, neg to neg, it's even colour coded.

We aren't sure where the pop was as we weren't really expecting this and just expected the car to start.

Where is the ECU and what should we check for since the fuses seem fine?

Ick, i didnt see the 2G NT, sorry. The fuse box is in a diff location, and the ECU is under the hood i think. I know very little about the 420A cars. Sorry.

Tried again today, battery charged at autozone fine, same pop.

When battery first plugged in and hood closed, yellow lights and taillights are on again but I just flicked the security system and it shuts off and returns to normal. (Lights, horn, everything fine at IGNITION ON) BUT when I try to start the car, I get the same pop and all the dash lights are dimmer and the battery is dead again.

HELP PLEASE!

Ah, our mechanic came and fixed it in like a second. It was our security system that was preventing the car from starting. I guess the pop is part of it and disables the vehicle.
