My GS-T was running okay until this morning. I borrowed my buddies truck and let him use my car in the meantime. I get a call as I was just coming back from picking up an engine and he tells me that the car won't move. He was doing a little racing and when he was leaving a parking lot, the car started to really slip. A couple blocks down, it hardly made it up a hill and finally just wouldn't grab at all. He coasted into a parking lot and turned the car off and put it in gear. The car just rolled. When I looked over my car, it runs like before, but I can't get it to move at all. I can put it in every gear without pushing the clutch in and nothing happens. It's like its in neutral. It sounds like the clutch is burned up, but I can't imagine him burning up the clutch that fast and that badly in such a short time. I'm afraid that it may be something far worse, like maybe something broken in the transmission. Does anyone have any ideas or what it could be? I am really hoping it's just the clutch but it was running fine yesterday and earlier in the morning. Help me out.

its gotta be the clutch .. most likely not a trans problem and definitly not engine. Almost sounds like the throw out bearing is stuck but I don't know how that would happen.

did you try to put it in reverse as well? the same thing happend to me , no gears worked, but reverse did....i still dont know what happend to my tranny

If it feels like NOTHING when you move the shifter, check the shifter cable ends, I have seen them be all jacked up. To have shifted that hard he must have been racing a Prostock Cavalier!!! :thumb:

Next thing after the shifter cables to check (if it feels like doesn't go through the gate) is the transmission itself.

I have broken the 3-4 shift fork inside a tranny, powershifting, it feels like the shifter isn't even hooked up to the tranny.

Driving with a broken internal transmission parts IS VERY BAD.

Do intial checks and keep us posted. Out of 37,000 members, I am sure some of us can help you out.

I have a set of 1-2, and 3-4 shift forks....just sitting in my garage. I broke the fork in my 95 GSX, ordered the forks, then wrecked it.

Now I have a 98' GSX that I DO NOT powershift, and hopefully won't wreck.

good luck
