Car running very slow at WOT

when i drive my 92 tsi, my engine takes a while to rev up, when i start to go the car boggs out and drives really slow after a while the car will start to spool but the car does not go nearly as fast as it should. the car also has an idle at 500-650 and when the gas is let off it drops fast like it wants to die. the turbo only spools to about 5lbs. i can hear the fuel pump and it sounds like its working. what could be doing this

Id do a boost leak test Sounds like one to me.

Did this happen in one day or over some time. Id check you fuel filter.

have you for any reason unplugged and forgot to plug your maf sensor back in?

the maf is plugged in, and it happened over some time, i just replaced the fuel filter

Please list some maintainence and diagnostics you've performed, any specific problems you have, any things you've done before the problems surfaced, and anything you think might be causing your problems. Asking "my car runs slow; why?" is not going to help us help you.
