between 3k-5k my car hits like a crappy spot where it has less power and it will backfire when i have it set at 11 psi, then it pulls hard as hell right after 5k

when i set the boost at like 15 psi it will pull like doo doo between 0-7k and back fire like a mother.

also every so often it will like not accelerate even under full throttle and it will back fire really loud and it will actually slow down instead of accerate, it still builds boost.

i don't think it is anything serious i think its a sensor, because my compresson is fine and my turbo is really new, the car isn't knocking or blowing killer smoke. and i pulls super hard when its not in this bad mood(it goes off and on all the time)

Hey Tyler im logged in under your name right now. Im up in Michigan and you haven't called to ask me? WTF, your car has been acting strange for awhile now, it be your maf sensor.

youll need a timing light....hook it up to the battery and clip the thing around the #1 plug wire....then aim it down on your crank pulley to see where the mark is, you might have to put some white out or timing chalk on the mark before you start so you can see it better....it should rest in the 5-8 degree btdc range, if not adjust your cas one way or the other to get it right..on mine i have to ground a plug but im thinking you dont have to for some reason...anyway the idle should be around 650-850 when you do this and the engine should be at operating temp. this link is for a 1g but should help a lot http://www.plymouthlaser.com/timin.htm

he been having trouble with that? that would do it too

Yes. He has had severe boost creep now for over a year so he hasn't been gettin in it at all for about a year. Now he has some more fuel w/ new pump and all so he felt safe to run at 17-18 psi since he can't run anyless. He just installed a new fuel pump yesterday now he must be trying to rip on it.

just a idea.. we had a simular problem on a gst right after a swap. the problem was one fuel injector wasnt fireing the wire looked connected but it was just far enough away to keep from fireing.. check all your connections.

I started a thread a while back about the same thing. My friends gst seems like it hits a wall after about 3500.We still havent figured it out.His A/f stays on the rich end and he tends to backfire alot.We are gonna take it to the dyno soon,so Ill let you know what happens. :thumb:

that sounds like the fuel filter to me

Magnecore wires are fairly new and BPR7ES are very new.

I think it must be pig rich. ???
Hm. Well, since it's a cheap and easy try, you might throw in a set of 6s. I'd also try another set of wires, or the old ones if you kept them. And do the plugs and wires in separate tries, so if it is one or the other, you know which.

i do have the old wires sitting around, and i guess i could get new plugs. the wires are pretty new though.

thanks for all the help guys

do you think i should try to lean it out? i have an hks afr(works like a afc)
i was wondering if i should cuz i have a rewired 190lph fuel pump
