I could find any helpful threads through the search.
I have 99 2G eclipse nearly stock.
I was going about 70 MPH on freeway and I pushed gas about half way on fifth gear.
Car was a accelerating for a second and the car lost power. I felt weird vibration. so I gave little gas but car was not pushing at all and died.
I pull the car and tried to start the engine but engine cranks but it wont start.
What is the possible cause of the problem?

Thank you

I'm not sure. where the dampener located at?
I havent done the compression test yet.

I just have to replace ignition coils? sounds simple if that is the cause.

have somebody else try to crank the car and hold each of your spark plug wires against a ground and see if they get spark.. if not then it could be a coil problem if yes then you have another problem.

If it was the crank pulley/dampener, you should of seen your battery light come on, because it would of tossed that belt if it completely came apart. It's possible it hasn't came apart yet, and when the engine is at idle, you can rev it and see the pulley and belt wobble if it is close to separating. I have also had it make a rod knock like noise right before it separated. Doubt this is the cause, engine would run still.

I would do as stated above, pull one plug at a time and see if spark is arcing in the wells of the head. Check the plugs while your there.

Remove the top timing belt cover and check the timing belt. Do a compression test. If you get bad numbers well you know where you stand. If not...

BOOST LEAK TEST! Something you should do for fun anyway.

Haha I didn't want to just come out and

say it but I vote skipped timing. I bent all my exhaust valves because the cam dowel pin snapped and they all bent. too was just cruising at 45, and then the rpms went from like 3k to 1500 and felt just like the time I ran out of gas, it will barley keep above 1k for a few seconds and wants to die, and you give it more gas and then it just does nothing and dies. That's about how it went for me.

Hope your pistons are not too dinged up.

I found out that the timing belt is broken.
I took it to the shop today.
