Can you monitor knock on a 2g?

The only way I know to do it is to look at your Timing advance. The ECU will retard timing significantly if it detects knock. Obviously, there are some other reasons that the ECU will retard timing, but this is one of the major/most common ones. Sorry :( Just one more reason to buy a 1g, LOL.

Claire (femmeDSM) is right on this one. If you see dips in timing this is a prime indicator of knock. On the 2G's, the ECU will hold timing at 7 counts and retard timing by one degree for every additional three counts of knock (i.e. 10, 13, 16, 19, etc). In lieu of DSM Link, you can use an EPROM ECU with a Keydiver Chip and these will show you up to 15 counts of knock on the stock boost gauge. Otherwise, use the logger and look for dips.

Hope that helps,

Andy
