camaro dude buys first talon

so i ended up buying a car from my friend becasue shehad a couple of babies, and no longer needs her 96 talon tsi, i bought the car for thousand dollars, the guy that she bought it from like four years ago, said it ran a 12.7 1/4 mile in denver co, and it did ### i saw the time slip and i drive it, it has quite a few mods on it, some of the mods are forced induction big 28 turbo, 550 injectors, apexi safc fuel computer, ported exhaust and o2, and many more.

just wondering what kind of horsepower this engine has and if it is possible to put an eagle talon engine in a geo tracker, i know it may sound crazy but thats what i bought it for

You can put any motor in any car, it just comes down to difficulty and cost. It would be extremely difficult and require a lot of fabrication to put that motor into a Tracker and all you'll get is an extremely top heavy poor handling SUV with more power than its drive train will be able to handle. Why would you cut up a rare car like a TSI AWD on a tracker. If you want a sleeper at least get something that's gonna be safe to drive over 80MPH so you can have fun with it. If you really want a powerful tracker then sell the Talon and buy an old s10 with a 4.3, I've seen a small hand full of 4.3 Vortec swaps done. It'll be a tight fit but it will fit.

today was the first day i actucally had some fun with it and i think i will keep it the way it is, ###### sell the camaro, ### this talon will smoke it, the only bad thing is that it needs a rear wheel bearing, and another bad thing is that i have a Apexi SAFC fuel computer, it has an lcd screen with like four lines running in sync with the throttle, does anyone know how to use one of these things or a link to a manual, no idea on how to use one of these things, car still runs good so i dont want to mess with it, but it would be nice to know how it works

Welcome. It sounds like you got a flippin' steal. I wouldn't tear it apart. If the car is in good shape, keep it, take care of it, and enjoy it. I too came from the V-8 world. I have an 02 WS6 with spray. Keep the Camaro for fun driving, power slides, burnouts, t-tops cruises (if yours has t-tops). Enjoy all the traction that AWD gives you. Oh, and post up some pics!!!!!!!! Put up a mods list if you can too.

Along with the dsm, I own a firebird formula. The formula hasn't gotten much love since the purchase of my laser. I maybe drive it five times a summer now. The laser gets all the attention. These cars are just too damn fun!

There is a lot of info about how to use an SAFC on here, I have one in my car and it works good. Don't touch any setting though until you know how to use it and you have some kind of logger

Apparently your camaro isn't an LSx car. And in which case, you should sell it.

sell the maro....what year is it? depending on what it is you could get around 5500 or so easy....just imagine what 5500 bucks in mod and maintenance money could get you from where the talon is now.

Nothing beats the raw power and low end torque of a well built camaro I had an 89 IROC pushing just over 400hp naturally with a massive carb. My little gokart eclipse will beat it in a drag, but it won't out maneuver it, or high speed corner. Unless of course I want to put $3000 more into the suspension, but then again, if I put $3000 more into the suspension of my iroc...
