Ok... is it just me, or is it that every time one tries to buy an electrical part (sensor, spark related, etc) that the search ends in failure?

at one point i needed a new ignition coil. should be no trouble, right? at the local advance auto parts and two other local parts places, they handed me what APPEARED to be the right part. one simple difference.... the pins for the electrical connector were flat, instead of round, which my previous coil and its connector were...

i am now seeking a new cam sensor and crank sensor... my pins are round on both of them... and once again, at every single local parts place, i get handed the sensors, but they are flat-pinned, when mine are round.

am i the only one that has this problem? are my pins supposed to be flat? anyone know any part numbers or where i could get the ones with the flat pins? anything?

i'm kinda boned right now if not...

and another thing... anyone know how to get the crank sensor out of the 420a? i found it, and its easy to get to... i took the bolt out, but cant pull the damn thing out of the motor...

damn.

well, i must now retreat to my fortress of solitude, as i have once again been bested by the mitsubishi demon.

any help is greatly appreciated.

As for the pins, you have a 2ga(95-96) those models came with the round pins instead of the flat. For the 2gb(97-99) models, that's when they were changed to the flat pins. Did they ask you the year model? If not, go back and specify that to them. Explain the problem and have them look to see if there is a different part number for your 96, as opposed to other years.

For the Crank sensor..Since you got the bolt out, all that's needed now is alittle elbow grease;) . It will come out, you just have to tug:thumb:

yeah, i specified year... as a matter of fact, i insisted on checking the computers and books themselves (i used to work at a few of these places :p )

the only two manufacturers i have to choose from at all of these places is GP sorensen and Wells, both of which are the flat pins..

thanks for the quick response tho!

ahhh you missed the point of my message. my coil pack isnt the problem. i found one of those months ago... i need to find the cam and the crank sensors... the coil pack i found at autozone, they were the only ones with the right part with the round pins... no such luck with the cam and crank sensors...
