After driving my car for while I notice the rear drivers side rotor isn't clean like the rest. Theres that rust colored surface on it like the caliper isn't engaging and the brake pad isnt touching the rotor. Do any of you know what could be wrong? Please only post if you know what you are talkin about. Wisemen needed.

My initial reaction would be that the piston is not getting enough pressure to apply pressure to the brake disc. Check the level of your brake fluid - you could have a small (but steady) leak in the brake line.

EDIT: If this is the case, then purchase some stainless steel braided lines from one of DSMTuners' vendors and replace all four of the brake lines.

EDIT x2: Here is the product for you:

You need to take the caliper off the rotor and check things out. Sometimes the slide bolts will freeze up and sometimes the caliper piston will sieze. You will know if the slides are frozen when you pull the caliper. If they are make sure to use synthetic grease and relube them before installation. As far as the caliper piston have someone step on the brake pedal very carefully and slowly to see if the piston moves. Could also be a brake line collapsed but this usually causes the brakes to drag after release.I would sooner tend to think the slide bolts are frozen which happens alot. keep us posted.Travis

Yeah... I had that happened to me recently, the sliding bolts were really dry so the brakes were sticking, and I went and bought a new caliper when all I needed was to re-lube my current bolts. So check that like above mentioned and hopefully you won't have to buy nothing else, though the SS brake lines make for a better brake system as well.

For now I will check the slide bolts. And start saving for those ss brake lines. I think if one more thing goes wrong with this car I will never be able to go turbo! LOL
