Heres the craigslist ad
97 Mitsubishi Eclipse for parts

The seller has dropped the price of the car in half.

I want to strip the car of all its parts.
Sell the parts I dont want
Rebuild the motor to handle a turbocharger

Would all this be worth 300 dollars or not

Edit: Just saw that it was non turbo. Honestly if I were you, I'd buy it and fix it up a little and try to sell it for 1k.

If you're building a car for "18 lbs of boost", you've already started off wrong. ;)

Yeah, I read all the posts AND the title, which is "Buy it and rebuild it for 18 lbs of boost? "

How are you going to rebuild it "for 18lbs of boost"?

I'm waiting for that bulb to come on over your head...

I wish I could change the title but cant, if I could the title would be 300 Dollar Investment In a Parts DSM

Would "Flipping" it involve my putting money into restoring the interior and fixing all these issues. Cause I was looking at mainly stripping the car for the oem parts worth salvage and sale online, and keeping the motor for a turbo build and practice/learning

Issues:

Safety no good
interior not too good
Might have bad rear tie rod (shakes when you drive)
AC blows, but not that cold
Door handles missing on both sides
body not in good shape
sunroof leaks
tires bald

It sounds like a pile of shiat. If you want it, go buy it; gut it and keep all the parts for yourself. It's your money. Are there many people you know that would purchase all the parts on it seperately for a profit? If you know how to turn a wrench and have the space to gut a car, along with having a large volume of potential buyers, then it is worth it.

If you want to restore/repair it, you are out of your mind if you are going to make a profit.

Thats what I was saying, that list is too long to fix it up and "flip" it.

As far as a list of buyers for parts. Just the fellow dsmers on Oahu for local sales, Ebay and this site.

A hint...let's get those gears turning...

Oh an 18g or a 16g

Its a 420a. I wouldn't waste time and resources building it for a Turbo. Just buy a 4g63 from a junkyard and it'll already be able to run 18psi

Agreed! I'm running 24.5psi completely stock 2G 7bolt on a Holset Hx35. I wouldn't waste the time on that car unless you sure you can sell off the parts for a profit. Then it is kind of a no brainer don't you think? :idontknow:

What if you both lived in Hawaii and couldn't exactly find a 4g dsm? I'm pretty sure the OP has been told this already and has threads trying to find a 4g dsm.

Yes I've given up hope in trying to find a gsx. The only 2g dsms on oahu that ever go on market are GST's, GS abd RS. So turboing my 420a is my only option. And the GST on market are convertibles :(
