Car blew 4th cylinder. Maybe kept driving and oil starved engine. After having the 7 bolt rebuilt, the car fires up and drives fine but it has no turbo power.

Here are the problems:

1. Car runs fine on 4 cylinders however turbo does not spool up properly and doesn't transfer turbo power

2. While driving boost gauge either doesn't work or reads slightly below 0 with no movement at all

3. When driving above 3K RPM you can hear a bit of spool, but there no turbo power treansfer and no motion on boost gauge.

4. Car smokes

What could it be? The Turbo seems to slightly work but doesn't give nearly any turbo power?

Help!

Can the turbo be fixed by installing a new center cartridge?

Did you have vacuum readings on your boost gauge or did it simply read 0?

I don't know, I would assume it depends how bad it is. Mine was all messed up, the wastegate was permanently open, the oil seals were shot, it had shaft play measured in INCHES, and the compressor wheel/housing were all chewed up.

Vacuum readings were normal at idle, but as I accelerate they would move up to 0 and never go any higher.

Call up whomever made your turbo (or wherever you bought it from) and look into getting a rebuild. Hopefully it's salvageable.

First off man take those crappy arse iridium plugs out of your car.

What boost gauge are you using? if it is the stock one that is way off but gives us an idea of what the maf is doing. Ya might also want to check for major boost leaks I had an intercooler pipe blow off and it drives that way when you disconnect the heart (engine) from the brain (maf).

No Iridium plugs? I thought they were al right?

Boost gaauge cheap autometer boost gauge --> not peak hold

Please explain the heart (engine) from the brain (maf), Is this what would affect the turbos performance.

How do I seek out boost leaks?

Info would be super SUPER appreciated.

Thanks for the shout out.

I love my :dsm: But when I started modding :thumbdown shit started breaking and I just simply want a smooth looking slammed on rims poor man's porsche!
