i ordered a rebuild kit for my block(7bolt) it comes with pistons and bearings etc. I'll be sending the block to the machine shop also with the head to get freshened up just wondering if there's anything else i should do in this rebuild. I'll be using stock head gasket but i'll use arp bolts and also if it's worth me buying forged rods only looking to make 350+ whp or should i just use the existing ones if there in good condition.
Thanks

As long as you have everything apart it would be a good idea to replace the water pump and oil pump. If the car has high miles (over 120k) I would also replace the various pulleys for the timing belt as well. Perhaps remove the balance shaft and balance the crank you're in there.

Which rebuilt kit did you get? Please post a link so we can see which one you are referring too. If you got the topline rebuilt kit then you would have been better off just re-ringing your 2g pistons, as they can put up with alot of hp. As stated above, you could easily go cheap and use 1g rods on your 2g pistons and be good for well over your hp goals. As for what else to do while you are in there, just do the things mentioned above. On the head gasket, if you are going oem, I would recommend the oem gasket straight from Mitsubishi.
