Yesterday when I went to work, I noticed my brake lights would not turn off. I did the basics, fuses and other quick checks. I then did research on the site and found where to look for my brake switch. I found a little white piece up there that seems to trigger my brake but it also looks like a blueish piece also went there but broke and it was down on the floor. I'm sure the blue piece is what I need to trigger the brakes to turn off. Long story short, is this piece available at an AutoZone for a quick and easy repair?

i doubt the zone has it. Mitsu dealer ... mostly likely will. Also junkyards.

I would pull the brake light fuse when you have the car off. Otherwise you'll be buying a new battery aswell as a switch.

Part numbers is MB435457 Switch, Stop Lamp

I had similar problem a few weeks ago, turns out that the whole switch got turned just a bit sideways. Turned it back and they went off and work just fine, try to see if its loose and just got bumped enough to turn it. If it doesn't work then you will have to order that part from the dealer. Good Luck..

i had that same problem the other day. only way i figured out was when i tried to start my car it was dead, i jumped it with the booster box and when i got out of my car at home i seen the driveway glowing red, the switch had to be adjusted didnt have time i was tired. so i stuck my wallet between the switch and the pedal, and adjusted the next day.
