i recently installed an evo 3 16g on my 2g gsx and now the bov is making a sound like psst psst psst like in stages. It used to be one big pssst. does mean that my bov is bad or is it something else. i read some othetr threads but all of the other people's problems came after crushing the bov which i did not do. i have a 1g bov

How much boost are you running? Chaddycakes21 is most likely right and it is leaking. Crushing the 1G BOV should solve it. Crushing the BOV allows it to hold more boost in. It's easy to do with a vice or a clamp. Either that or buy a better BOV, depends on your application though. Someone else will have to chime in for how much boost a crushed BOV can hold.

I held 26psi on mine with out leaking. If you do decide to crush it, do so with a MityVac and make sure you come up with a reading of 19-20 in./hg. for release. The sound will change and you'll ned to watch for part throttle compressor surge in 5th gear, but other than that, it works like a champ. If you decide that you'd rather replace the BOV, buy a Forge with the spring klt and use the higher pressure spring (identified by color). Other tuners have held 24-26 psi on the Forge without a problem and it's a beautiful piece of equipment as well.

Hope that helps,

Andy

well im only running about 12psi right now because of the fuel system. I took my bov of fwhen i did the turbo install and noticed it was really clogged up with rusty looking stuff. so i cleaned it out and thats when it started doing it. could i have messed something up when cleaning it to cause it to start leaking. also i thoght the 1gbov could handle 12psi without leaking so it must be messed up.
