Bore pistons holes (cons/pros)

Well im rebuilding my motor and before i buy my pistons, just wanted to know do i really need to bore it out to 0.020 or 0.040 or can/should l just leave it stock bore size? what some some pros/cons of boring it/stck bore

Take your block into a mechanic and have them check out the cylinder bores. If they are all within spec, go with std bore...if there is any egging, scoring, etc...go with an overbore. You will not notice any difference in performance between stock bore, .020 or .040 over, so its just to keep the cylinder wall in spec.

You could do this yourself if you have a dial bore gauge. Or you could use t-gauges and an outside mic but that's kind of a pain. Just like black said, if it's out of spec you can determine if a .020 over bore will fixe the problem or you may need to go bigger like the .030 or .040.

I just put .20 over in my 90 GSX motor and they look great. I bought the Wiseco Forged from Buschur Racing.

I'd just like to add that you should try to stay conservative. Just because you CAN get a .040" overbore doesn't mean that you should. 0.040" is regarded as the "limit" by many because if you get bigger than that, the walls may become too thin. Therefore if a problem should arise later on and you have to rebore again, you may be out of luck.
