okay guys my buddy has a 91 eagle talon tsi. its bored .50 over. (says the guy he got the car from) and has a 16g turbo. we made a manual boost controller for it but it wont hold any kind of boost what so ever. `boost just shoots to whatever it wants too. we hit at least 26 psi a few minutes ago with it. any help appreciated.

U might wanna invest in a real mbc. Better to spend a little money now than run the risk of popping the motor and have to spend alot more.

Why in the hell would you guys say check for boost leaks.

He is not having a problem not building boost but a problem building too much boost.

It sounds like to me that the wastegate flapper could possibly be stuck closed or you have the MBC plumbed wrong.

Take the vacuum line off of the wastegate and apply around 15 psi from a blow nozzle and see if the wastegate will open the flapper.

He didnt ask what he could do for general maintenance. He asked why his boost shot up. Possibly improperly made boost controller. Also, was the wastegate functioning properly before you made the mbc?

Generally you will get alot of responses as of blt (bacon lettuce tomato). Check out some vac diaghrams and check to make sure everything is ran correctly according to the mbc that you have and check the way you made your boost controller correctly. Good luck.

What other mods are done to the car??

This is important to know before you go to modifying, or adding, things.

26psi on a 16g should have hit boost cut unless there are other modifications.
